Meet Kas Leckie: Visual Artist
Kas is a surreal expressionist, inspired by Impressionism, blending techniques to create a unique cross-stylistic approach. With a passion for the environment and humanitarianism; Kas' visceral style and vivid expression incite critical thought and mindfulness.
Kas is a self-taught artist that drew significant inspiration from surrealists like Dali and Varo, Impressionists such as Monet and Renoir, and Van Gogh's expressionism. They also had contemporary influences such as Clive Barker and Stan Rice, which spurred an anomalous but not unexpected detour into southern gothic art in their adult career. Their art style has often been referred to as "Lovecraftian," "emotive," and "thought-provoking."
Kas has been painting and designing for 20 years. They have been featured in art shows, such as "Calling in a New Wave" and "The Local Artists Expo," and their work can be seen displayed in various businesses in downtown Panama City, FL. They can often be found painting live at events, hosting art markets and paint parties, or most often in their studio with paint up to their elbows. ​
